NCS 2024: STAR GAZER

The creative director of NCS Colour, Karl Johan Bertilsson, presented the 2024+ color trends while underlining the importance of contrasts for vision. Color can spark passion and wellbeing, and even the slightest chromatic difference can have an enormous impact.

It’ll be a year of action and evasion, with a strong desire to return to nature.

The group of trend experts has identified four trends, the main aspects of which include a preference for more chromatic colors, the strong presence of dark shades and the desire for natural nuances.

STAR GAZER

This color trend is characterized by the use of powerful colors that evoke spirituality, but also luxury. Identity and feelings become fluid and changeable, the concept of gender is completely redefined and ethnic and geographic differences lose importance. Purple, a symbol of wealth and good fortune, becomes pivotal in this trend, mixing perfectly with gold.

The colors in this trend have already been formulated by our color specialists for the design of surfaces and materials. They are also included in the ICA Color tintometric system.
